After the death of King Robert I Baratheon, Jalabhar is among the score of nobles that attends King Joffrey I Baratheon's first court session in the Red Keep. He and Ser Balon Swann get outshot by the commoner Anguy at a hundred paces in the final round of the archery competition. Jalabhar Xho, by John Matson © Fantasy Flight Games Having no other place to seek refuge, the exiled Prince of the Red Flower Vale is one of the most colorful figures at court alongside Thoros of Myr. While Jalabhar continues to occasionally petition the Iron Throne to win back his seat, he has become a noted courtier at King's Landing. Although Robert always put off Jalabhar's request for help, he never firmly declined him, telling him "Next year" instead of "No". Robert always entertained the notion of conquering the Summer Isles, but continuously told Jalabhar and put it off until the next year. Following his exile, Jalabhar came to King's Landing in the Seven Kingdoms to request gold and swords from King Robert I Baratheon to help him regain the Red Flower Vale. Jalabhar Xho is the exiled Prince of the Red Flower Vale, likely exiled for losing a highly ritualized war as per the tradition of the Summer Isles. Beneath his jewels and feathers, Cersei Lannister considers him to be little more than a highborn beggar. He speaks both the Common Tongue and his native Summer Tongue. He also owns another splendid cape of feathers, a plumage described as so extravagant and fantastic that he seemed like to take flight. The feathers of his own cape are green and scarlet. Jalabhar has the dark skin and extravagant feather cape typical of Summer Islanders. The Summer Islands divide the Sunset Sea in the west from the Summer Sea in the east.Appearance and Character See also: Images of Jalabhar Xho The islands lie approximately due south of eastern Dorne, the Narrow Sea and the western Free Cities, several hundred miles west of Naath and the western coast of Sothoryos. The town of Last Lament at the north-western tip of Walano is located almost exactly 750 miles due south of Sunspear in Dorne. The islands occupy an area of ocean extending from north to south for a thousand miles, and from east to west for almost nine hundred. The Smiling Sea divides Walano from Omboru and the Indigo Straits divide Omboru from Jhala. The numerous smaller islands include Koj, the Isle of Birds, Stone Head, Singing Stones, Three Exiles, Moluu, Xon, Doquu and the Bones. The city of Ebonhead is also located on Jhala. Jhala is the largest island, containing the Red Flower Vale (home of Jalabhar Xho) and Sweet Lotus Vale. Further north on Walano is the oft-mentioned Tall Trees Town, the home of the Cinnamon Wind and her crew. The capital city of the Summer Islands is Lotus Port, located on Walano. The large islands are, from north to south, Walano, Omboru and Jhala.
